Kilimanjaro Nut’s co-founder, Kimmit Haggins, traveled to Zanzibar and Tanzania as a tourist and entrepreneur a dozen years ago. He was interested in starting an unrelated business, but learned that coffee was the region’s largest export commodity. The vast majority of coffee exports went to Europe and Japan, not the USA. “2.4 billion people drink coffee every day,” says Haggins. “We want to bring them the finest coffee they have ever savored
